What We Teach

Like all Early Years Educational Centres, La Casita follows the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ (EYFS), which sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old.

Your child will mostly be taught through games and play in both Spanish and English.

Areas we focus on:

  • Communication and language

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social and emotional development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts and design

How We Teach It

We believe that young children learn best through experiences and this methodology is known as Experiential Education. The focus of this method is on children’s’ emotional well-being - children feeling at ease, acting spontaneously and showing vitality and self-confidence.  Meanwhile, we set up a challenging environment allowing children to concentrate, be motivated and fascinated.

We follow ‘In the moment’ planning – observing and interacting with children as they pursue their own interests and also assessing and moving their learning on.

We suggest activities, offer relevant materials, invite children to communicate through thought provoking questions, and offer new possibilities of play.

We capture these special moments as part of the children’s learning journey and share them with parents through a secure, online platform called Tapestry.
